Welcome to your online orientation! 🎉 👏🏻 🙌🏻
Our team is excited to welcome you to this amazing new season in your life as you begin this program with us. We believe it's the next step in both your effectiveness in ministry as well as your own personal growth. We hope that this orientation prepares you to fully utilize all of the resources that our program offers.
All steps in orientation are required to be completed before your first day of class. The following steps provide instructions on setting up your student accounts as well as links to required orientation readings. In the last step (step 11) you will sign a form verifying that you completed each step and that you agree to abide by the Westminster Online Learning Values and policies. That's it! Once completed you'll be prepared to begin your first class!
Tips for Success
Here are a few tips we recommend as you get ready for your term.
1. Clear your calendar 🗓
If your schedule tends to fill up quickly, you'll want to set aside plenty of time for your online classes over the next couple months. It's a rigorous program, but you'll gain the benefits from such a quality curriculum. Each class requires an average of about 10+ hours per week. Keep in mind though this is just an estimate and it may take you more or less time each week, depending on your personal pace, that week's work, or if you're working on something like a final paper. It’s essential that you plan ahead and manage your time. If you leave everything to the last minute, you won’t finish on time. More importantly, you’ll have difficulty absorbing and retaining the great content.
2. Ask for help 👩🏻💻
Not only will you get used to going to your peers and classmates for support throughout the program, but you will also have access to our team who is working behind the scenes to support you for success in the program. We're the same team that is always building and improving your tools and services so we are really good at finding the solutions for any issues you experience and we're eager to help! Find out more about this in step 3.
3. Ask someone to pray for you 🙏🏻
Having a friend to check in on you is a great way to get the support you need when things are busy and stressful. We expect many class lectures, readings, and discussions with your small group will be helpful and inspiring to you, but your classes will definitely be stressful at other times. We recommend you find someone you can ask to pray for you, for your focus and perseverance through your coursework, and who can check in with you along the way.
