A note to Visiting Students: Although you will not complete the Applied Ministry Program requirements as a Visiting Student, you can read this step if you are considering a full degree program in the future.
The Applied Ministry Program (AMP) is a required program for practical application of your online degree. AMP requires you to partner with someone in your ministry context for 100 hours of practical ministry in order to receive encouragement and constructive feedback while tracking your progress.
AMP is divided into two phases – the Planning Phase and the Evaluation Phase. In the Planning Phase you will choose specific areas of personal and ministerial growth in which you and your ministry partner will focus constructive conversations. During the Evaluation Phase, ongoing feedback conversations with your partner will consider how and where growth has occurred. More information about completing these phases is located on the Dashboard.
Even though you do not need to take immediate action to fulfill your AMP requirements (and we recommend getting settled into your courses before making your AMP plans!), you should begin thinking about how and when you will be able to fit these 100 hours of ministry into your schedule. It may help to know that although there is flexibility in terms of how long it will take students to complete AMP, most students complete 100 hours within 1 full calendar year. You'll need to complete your hours before your final term of coursework. Mark in your calendars now the timeframe you plan to complete these hours so you can prepare well for that time.
